A New Low

I know a lot of you are big fans of Fox News Channel. I am not. And here's one more reason why.

The folks at Fox News are mad at the New York Times, because the paper did a story last weekend about how Fox's ratings dominance seems to be coming to an end, and it's cable competitors are catching up.

As you can imagine, Fox News didn't like the story. So anchor Steve Doocy and the others trashed the Times on "Fox and Friends" this week.

But they didn't stop there. They actually doctored photos of the New York Times reporter and editor. Take a look above. The REAL picture is on the left... the version Fox aired is on the right. Fox purposefully yellowed their teeth, added dark circles under their eyes, widened their nose and chin, and photo-shopped their ears to stick out further.

What is this, the third grade? Aside from being completely juvenile and moronic, it was completely unethical. A few years ago, when Time Magazine photoshoppped an image of OJ Simpson to make him look darker and more sinister, they were vilified by the ethics police. Fox News should be held to the same standard, even if their targets were simply newspaper reporters, and not murderers.

Sure, the New York Times may be a liberal mouthpiece. And maybe they do have it out for conservatives... and for Fox News. But Fox's response is, quite simply, idiotic.
