Now I'm REALLY glad I didn't go to Sacramento!
Today the Sacramento Bee reports that Dan Weiser, news director at top-rated KCRA (Channel 3) since late 2002 (and the guy who would've been my boss), "resigned" his position on Monday, two days before the start of the February local TV news ratings "sweeps" period.
The move comes just three days after the station laid off five editorial employees in a restructuring that station president Elliott Troshinsky said was tied to the formation of a new morning newscast on sister station My58TV.
I called Dan today and wished him the best... and he seems to be in good spirits. Good luck, Dan.
