I tried. I really tried to be a fan of comedian Dane Cook. I watched the entire season of his incessant vanity project, "Tourgasm," on HBO. It chronicled his recent cross-country comedy tour, mostly pointing out how great he is, what a wonderful person he is, how everyone loves him, how he's the biggest star on myspace.com, and how he's the most successful comedian since Jamie Farr.
But I'm sorry. The dude just isn't funny. It's the first tenet of comedy... make people laugh. I haven't chuckled yet.
True, his comedy seems to appeal to the masses. But as someone famous once said, "the masses are asses."
