KWGN said Tuesday it will add another half-hour newscast to its lineup beginning Sept. 11.
Morning anchor Natalie Tysdal and weekend anchor Vida Urbonas will handle the 11 a.m. newscast.
"News2 at Eleven" will include weather reports from Angie Austin of "News2 This Morning."
The added newscast comes as the WB and UPN affiliates are merging to form a new company called The CW. KWGN is a WB affiliate.
Denver's UPN affiliate, KTVD, is adding a 9 p.m. newscast beginning Sept. 5 through its relationship with NBC affiliate KUSA. Gannett Co. Inc. (NYSE: GCI) owns both KUSA and KTVD.
KUSA anchors Bazi Kanani and Mark Koebrich will serve as anchors of the "9News at 9 p.m." half-hour program, which will air on KTVD.
"9News at 9 p.m." will serve as competition for the newscast on Denver's Fox affiliate, KDVR, and KWGN, which have 9 p.m. newscasts.
