Looks like my old "friend" and fellow name-sake is going to miss the entire season. Here's what the Denver Post is reporting:
Jeremy Bloom, the Philadelphia Eagles' fifth-round draft choice who skipped the past two college football seasons at the University of Colorado so he could ski in the Olympics, will miss the season with a pulled hamstring.
Bloom, a wide receiver and kick returner, pulled his hamstring during spring practice. He reinjured the leg during his only preseason action, when he averaged 22.5 yards on two kickoff returns during the Eagles' 20-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Aug. 17.
The team put him on the injured reserve list, which makes him ineligible to play this year.
"He is dedicated to the sport, but he's also trying to do something unique, and that's to completely change his body in a short period of time," Eagles special-teams coach John Harbaugh said.
Bloom, 24, is a three-time skiing world champion who finished sixth in the freestyle moguls at the Winter Olympics in February.
