The Best Anchor Receives Another Honor

The late Peter Jennings has been honoured posthumously with the prestigious Order of Canada.

He was named to the Order along with 47 other recipients at a ceremony at Rideau Hall in Ottawa on Friday.

Jennings, one of North America's best-known broadcast journalists, died of lung cancer in 2005 at age 67. Elizabeth Jennings received the award from Governor General Michaelle Jean on behalf of her father. After the ceremony, Elizabeth and Jennings' son, Christopher Jennings, spoke to reporters.

"It makes us proud," Elizabeth said.
