The National Weather Service is issuing heavy snow and winter storm warnings across Colorado's high country tonight. A big snowfall could be just what's needed for ski areas, because the way things have been shaping up, it's starting to look like a
lean year. According to his records, a dry October means a dry -- and snowless -- winter. This year, snowfall is running 30-percent below average for October.
But that could change this week. The Weather Service is calling for more than a foot of snow in the high country, and even the chance of a dusting in metro Denver by tomorrow night or early Wednesday.
